As an AssignorAssignor, can I make assignments without anyone seeing them but me?

Whoa there! MatchMatch Assignments are not your personal property for you to distribute whenever you like. Holding and hiding them are, in our opinion, a violation of the ethical standards associated with being an Assignor.

In the Referee Management SiteReferee Management Site concept, Match coverage is requested by an OrganizationOrganization and it's the Chapter's responsibility to assign an appropriate RefereeReferee crew to each Match. Your task, as an Assignor, is to fill the requested positions with appropriately skilled and licensed Referees.

If the AssignmentAssignment belongs to anyone, it belongs to the Organization: They contracted with you to cooperate amongst all parties involved in the Match. You work WITH the Referees, the Chapter, and the Organization to meet their requirements. DO NOT HIDE your Assignments or you will be responsible for breaking down this cooperative connection!

If you are in a situation where a Referee complains about another Referee getting a "better assignment", we recommend that you simply share with him or her the steps he or she can take to become eligible for the better Assignment in the future (e.g. upgraded license, additional training, more assessments).

In other words, use the Referee's complaint as a positive opportunity to improve his or her skill set, rather than creating a situation where Referees become distrustful of each other. Remember, the game is serviced best when everyone works TOGETHER to meet each others needs. This means eliminating artificial barriers to cooperation. And make no mistake, hiding assignments is a barrier to cooperation!

When making assignments, keep in mind this simple principle: If you aren't sure that you should make a particular assignment, don't make it. If you're sure that you want to make the assignment, than make it. Once you make the assignment, "hiding" it from anyone contradicts "empowering the Referee", which is a fundamental goal of the SiteSite!
