Reference: Internet-Strange SymbolsSometimes you will find strange symbols instead of certain letters or punctuation in the pages you are viewing - this is generally not caused by the HTML content for a particular page, but is the result of a few factors:
The following table shows how specific Ascii characters are displayed and/or interpreted by your current desktop environment (your Browser, current Font, etc.). Some of these characters may not display properly. That will indicate that your Browser, or the character font/character set currently in use by your Browser, doesn't know what to do with the specified character.
Please note: it may be normal for you to observe one or more of these characters not displaying properly (empty, "funny looking" symbol, or a "&#nnn"). It is all dependent upon your Browser's current environment. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
